#FarrisStory: Korean War Vet Inspires Son and Community

"My dad was the most influential and inspirational to me. A man born in West Virginia, with just 5th grade education. He joined the U.S. Army at 17 and served our country in the Korean a conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart. He went on to work at Ford motor company and pastor our church. With minimal education, a simple man who could barely read and write, he would study and read the bible and became an ordained free will baptist preacher. He was admired by many, including me- his son. My dad has been my example for how I live my life. He died at 71 from cancer, and missed and remembered fondly by many."
