"My grandmother was my hero and inspiration. She showed us that life is what you make of it no matter what comes your way. Even though she could have received food stamps and other entitlements she refused to accept them saying 'what's the honor in that?' In spite of her limited financial resources she always found a way to give a Christmas gift for each of her 9 grandchildren. She loved to bake (no recipe) and it always came out consistent. There was always a dessert at Grandmas."
