"As a young, graduate assistant basketball coach in 1991, I had the good fortune to share an office with Coach John Myers. Coach Myers, at that point in his career, had coached virtually every sport sponsored at our small college. At the time, he was our golf coach and that was his passion. His experience in coaching had a profound effect on me. He taught me to always do what was best for the student/athlete first and worry about your career path second. He also taught me to handle disappoints with class; one never knows what opportunities may lay ahead.
