#FarrisStory: 'I owe what I am do my parents in all aspects of life starting with education and morality'

"I owe what I am to my parents in all aspects of life starting with education and morality. I remember one incident when at the age of fourteen I quite a job working in a music store for a higher paying job without giving proper notice, my father was quite upset saying I owed my former employer a proper notice, because he relied on me. It didn't matter what I did on that job I was needed. A few years after that I wanted to drop out of high school I had a terrible sophomore year, it just so happened that he was on strike and was working as a truck driver delivering to a retail drug chain store. I went with him one day, it was summer time and after that day I realized how hard he had to work for all we had and was going back to school to graduate. My mother never lost her patience with me and I eventually grew up to become a successful father of four children all who not only are responsible adults, two are first responders (police and fire) thanks to the example of their parents my parents and my wife there is a lot more to my story but I would not want to bore you.Thank you for giving me this opportunity to express my self." - Josep from Stony Point, NY
